October 2018

Hello WTA Family!

It’s been something of a whirlwind, but we’re already five weeks deep into the 2018-2019 school year, and, all around, it’s been a fantastic start.  In particular, our new freshmen, the Class of 2022, have fallen into the new routine of high school life and their exploratory rotations like veterans.  And a number of our seniors are already out on Co-Op. Congratulations on a job very well done!

October is shaping up to be a VERY busy month at WTA!  On Thursday, October 4, we are pleased to host State Commissioner Jeffrey Riley, who will be here to visit our Aviation Program and tour our newly-renovated hangar at Barnes Airport.  On Monday, October 17, our student representatives will give their first presentation of the year to the Westfield School Committee on recent happenings at WTA.  And on Tuesday, October 30, we will have our annual General Advisory Committee Dinner and Meeting.  Honoring a promise I made to Mayor Sullivan last year, we’ve changed the day and date of the event to better accommodate his schedule and those of our City Councilors, whom, in addition to our School Committee, we are excited to have join us!

In closing, I encourage everyone in the WTA Family to tune into “Tiger Talk:  The Rob and Joe Show” each Thursday morning at 8:00 on 89.5 WSKB FM Radio for news of all things WTA.  Remember, “You’re in the flow with Rob and Joe!”  Also, our very own Tiger’s Pride Restaurant will tentatively open for the 2018-2019 School Year on Wednesday, October 3.  You can check for updates and access the menu here on the WTA Website or on the Tiger’s Pride Facebook Page.

And, as always, please know how grateful I am for all that you do on behalf of WTA!

Best Regards,

Joe Langone
