Well, it’s November, but it’s certainly felt like June for the past several days. A welcome distraction,

In spite of the pandemic, November has shaped up to be a busy month here at the Academy. Two
events, in particular, come to mind:
 On Tuesday evening, November 17, we will be holding our annual General Advisory Committee
Dinner and Meeting from 6:00 via Zoom. Unfortunately, due to COVID Restrictions, this will be a
significantly muted affair. Nevertheless, we are grateful to have the opportunity to convene—if
only remotely—to review our progress and to than our GAC Members for their continued and
critical support of our technical programs.
 As we do each year, WTA will act as the staging ground for the Thanksgiving Food Drive on
Monday, November 23. Again, due to COVID Restrictions, the format will be a bit different than
usual, but our organizers, Sue and Ralph Figy, are on well on track to provide at least 250
complete thanksgiving meals to our neediest families. In advance, we thank them for their
tireless efforts on behalf of the entire community, and we also offer our sincerest thanks to
those businesses and individuals who have made donations to this important initiative

Please remember that there will be no school for students from Wednesday, November 25 to Friday,
November 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving Recess.
In closing, I would like to extend to everyone my sincerest best wishes for a happy and safe Thanksgiving
Holiday! Thanksgiving is our annual opportunity as a nation to adopt an “attitude of gratitude” for all of
the blessings we have received—and continue to receive each and every day. In that spirit of gratitude,
let’s take advantage of every opportunity we can to share those blessings with those who are less
fortunate and in need.

Again, Happy Thanksgiving, and, as always, please know how grateful I am for all that you do on behalf
of WTA!
